Deputies propose to make February 24 the National Day of Prayer

The Verkhovna Rada proposed to introduce a National Day of Prayer in Ukraine, which will be celebrated on February 24, the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia. About this it is said in the draft law on amendments to Article 73 of the Labor Code of Ukraine regarding the establishment of the National Day of Prayer (No. 12336).

On this day, it is planned to hold a special session of the parliament, which will begin with the performance of the spiritual hymn of Ukraine “God is great, one”.

“Ukraine not only resisted the invasion on February 24, but also gave a worthy response to the aggressor, preserving statehood. This became possible thanks to the highly motivated army, Ukrainian society, which demonstrated extraordinary unity and solidarity in the national resistance to the invaders, as well as prayer for Ukraine, which rose in those days all over the world” – note the authors of the draft law.

The document is currently under consideration by parliamentary committees. The initiators emphasize that Ukrainians today continue to fight for their independence, the right to live on their land and determine their own future. Prayer, according to them, is a supernatural force that strengthens the spirit of the people and adds faith in victory.

“Joint prayer will protect the state of Ukraine and those who continue to fight on the battlefield, will be a testimony of the spiritual unity of the people and a symbol of our unshakable faith in victory.” – emphasize the deputies.
