Gazprom returns employees from Europe and forces them to learn Turkish

Employees of the Russian Gazprom, which provided maintenance for the Nord Stream and Turkish Stream gas pipelines, almost completely left the countries of the European Union during the past year. This is reported by rosZMI.
Some Gazprom employees say they are moving to Turkey, where a new gas hub is planned. In 2024, the company’s employees actively studied the Turkish language at special courses. By the end of the year, they were looking for housing in Istanbul, transporting their belongings and families.
Not only citizens of Russia left Europe, but also residents of EU countries who worked for Gazprom. Many agreed to move because of high salaries, which exceeded the market average by a third.
Last year, Gazprom employees took part in the liquidation of the consequences of explosions on the “North Stream”, because European companies refused to cooperate due to sanctions. At the same time, the company continued to serve Turkish Stream through the Dutch structure, but its operations were significantly complicated due to the sanctions pressure on European companies and their management.
We will remind that “Gazprom” lost control over its companies in Germany and Great Britain, which were nationalized. In 2024, the monopolist also liquidated two Dutch companies — “Gazprom Sakhalin Holdings B.V.” and “Gazprom Finance B.V.”.
