Naftogaz signed an agreement on the urgent purchase of gas

“Naftogaz” concluded an agreement to attract a loan in the amount of 270 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and also signed a grant agreement for 140 million euros from Norway for the urgent purchase of 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas. About this reported the press service of the company.
“The corresponding loan and grant agreements were signed by the head of the Naftogaz Group, Roman Chumak, and the deputy director of the EBRD in Ukraine, Mark Magaletsky,” – says the message.
The company noted that the funds are already available to Naftogaz and will be used to import gas:
“They will allow the purchase of almost 1 billion cubic meters of gas, which is critical for the stable passage of the next heating season, especially in the conditions of war and regular attacks on our energy infrastructure.”
We will remind that on April 25, Ukraine received 270 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development under state guarantees for the purchase of gas, while the financing was supplemented by a grant from the Norwegian government in the amount of 140 million euros. Due to Russian strikes on gas infrastructure and a reduction in domestic production, Ukraine will significantly increase gas imports in 2025.
