RosZMI reported on Girkin’s release to participate in the war, his wife denied it

It was reported that Igor Strelkov-Ghirkin’s lawyers obtained permission from relevant departments to replace his sentence with participation in hostilities in the zone of the so-called “special military operation”. According to Russian media reports, this issue has actually been resolved, only a few formal procedures remain.

However, Girkin’s wife, Myroslava Reginska, categorically denied these statements.

“The information that Igor Strelkov is leaving the colony and going to the SVZ is not true and is a fake. The defense of Igor Ivanovich and his family do not have such information.”, – she wrote.

At the same time, Reginska added that Girkin would really like to go to war, and not sit in prison.

Ihor Strelkov-Ghirkin was sentenced to four years in a general regime colony on the charge of public appeals to extremism via the Internet. In particular, his publications related to the issue of the return of Crimea to Ukraine and complaints about non-payment by the Russian military. One of the posts was recognized as extremist, which became the basis for prosecution.

In April, Girkin tried to get permission to participate in the war in Ukraine by writing a request for transfer to the front. According to his wife, one of the military units on the territory of the so-called “DPR” was ready to conclude a contract with him and appoint him as a platoon commander.

At the end of August, Strelkov was declared a fugitive, but after the intervention of his lawyers, this status was removed.
