President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Yaroslav Shanek as the new head of the Kherson City Military Administration. The corresponding order No. 76/2025-p was published on the official website of the head of state.
“To appoint Shanko Yaroslav Viktorovych as the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Kherson District, Kherson Oblast”, – the document says.
Previously, this position was held by Roman Mrochko, who headed the administration from March 2023. On April 17, 2025, the president decided to release him. Before his new appointment, Yaroslav Shanko worked as the deputy chief of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
“I understand that there are many difficult tasks ahead. However, I guarantee: decency, integrity and openness. No loud words, instead of actions. Soon I will talk about my first steps in office. The priority is to protect people and support our brave soldiers.” — Shanko noted after his appointment.
In 2011, Yaroslav Shanko graduated from the Kherson Law Institute of KhNUVS. Since 2015, he has held the position of senior inspector in the Juvenile Prevention Department of the Department of Preventive Activities of the State Police. In 2019, Shanko became the head of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the Kherson Oblast Police, and the following year he became the Deputy Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the Kherson Oblast Police.
From 2021 to 2023, he worked as the deputy head of the juvenile prevention department of the National Police of Ukraine. On May 23, 2023, he was appointed deputy chief of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
