Минобороны планирует превратить тысячи тонн старой резины в полезный ресурс

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is implementing a system of secondary processing of used tires, primarily from military wheeled vehicles. Recycled rubber will be used to manufacture products needed by the repair units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Defense.
«The Ministry of Defense is working on improving the efficiency of its units. The implementation of this project will allow to reduce budget costs and ensure the needs of the army in material means.» — said Nikita Nikitenko, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
At present, more than 6,000 tons of used tires that need to be disposed of are currently stored in the warehouses of military units. The cost of such services on the market today ranges from 200 to 400 thousand hryvnias for every 1,000 tons.
«Accordingly, at the level of the Ministry, it was considered expedient to build our own processing line. This will make it possible to reduce costs and provide the repair units of the Armed Forces with our own products. For example, rubber mats.
If military needs are fully met, it will be possible to consider manufacturing products for Ukrainian road enterprises and construction companies,» — explained the head of the Department of Expropriation and Disposal of Surplus Military Property of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Oleg Koval.
To implement the project, domestic equipment was purchased, which is already being installed on the territory of one of the military units. Taking into account the reduction of disposal costs, the expected economic effect of the operation of the line may reach 15 million hryvnias per year.
«The line is already 80% installed. It is expected that the start-up commissioning works will be completed in the near future and the line will reach its design capacity in March.»Oleg Koval noted.
