The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that Russia is preparing for a new spring offensive, concentrating forces for a strike, particularly in the Sumy and Kharkiv directions. According to him, Vladimir Putin seeks to buy time, informs Le Figaro.
«I can also confirm that Putin is trying to buy time and is preparing for a spring offensive. We see preparations for this upcoming operation. We have shared intelligence with our allies. We must look at the situation with wide-open eyes. Putin is preparing a new offensive, in particular in Sumy region and Kharkiv region.», — noted Zelensky.
According to him, the Russian Federation planned this offensive eight months ago, but thanks to the successful Kursk operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to thwart these plans. Currently, Russia is trying to buy time to regroup and increase pressure on the front.
We will remind that the Russians are trying to break into the territory of Sumy Oblast in the direction of the settlements of Novenke and Zhuravka, but the state border line has not yet been breached. The enemy acts in small assault groups, trying to gain a foothold, accumulate forces and expand the combat zone on Ukrainian territory.
At the same time, Russian troops do not stop attacking Ukrainian positions in Kurshchyna, but they are not succeeding. Defense forces of Ukraine restrain the enemy on the line Gogolivka — Guevo, periodically conducting counterattacks.
