Венгрия планирует выйти из Международного уголовного суда

Hungary plans to announce its withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC). This was stated by Minister of Justice Bense Tuzson during a meeting with ambassadors held last week at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. informs Free Europe.
If such a decision is made, the government must first submit a proposal to the National Assembly to withdraw participation in the ISS. If it is supported by the parliamentary majority, the Cabinet of Ministers will officially begin the exit process, which could last up to a year.
Discussions about a possible exit from the ISS took place in Budapest even after Donald Trump took office as president of the United States. The Hungarian government expected further action from Trump on the court. When he announced his intention to introduce sanctions against the Hague Court due to the arrest warrant of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Budapest considered it a «green signal».
Let us remind you that Netanyahu is to visit Hungary this week, despite the existence of a warrant for his arrest issued by the International Criminal Court on charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Hungary is a party to the Rome Statute of the ICC: it has signed and ratified the document, but has not yet brought its legislation into line with its requirements. In this regard, Budapest does not plan to execute the arrest warrant for the Israeli prime minister.
