President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud. During the conversation, they discussed potential steps and conditions necessary to end the war in Ukraine and achieve lasting peace.
«Discussed in great detail with Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud the steps and conditions that can end the war and make the peace reliable and lasting. He especially emphasized the issue of the release of prisoners and the return of children, which could become one of the key measures to establish trust in diplomatic efforts. A significant part of the conversation was devoted to the formats of security guarantees.» Zelensky said.
He emphasized the contribution of Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud to the promotion of peace, stressing that Saudi Arabia plays an important role as a platform for diplomatic efforts.
«We appreciate Saudi Arabia’s willingness to develop economic cooperation and invest in Ukraine. Key sectors for investment were discussed, starting with security, energy and infrastructure. We equally see opportunities for economic development and cooperation thanks to reconstruction in Ukraine.» — added the president.
According to him, the Ukrainian team will remain in Jeddah for joint work with the American side.
