The cause of the incident is being investigated. The plant specialized in the manufacture of solid rocket engines and played a key role in the fulfillment of defense contracts for the US Air Force, NASA and private aerospace companies. The capabilities of this enterprise were probably used for the production of the latest intercontinental ballistic missiles LGM-35A Sentinel, which the Pentagon plans to purchase in the amount of 659 units. Tests of Sentinel rocket engines were regularly conducted on the territory of the plant. In particular, on March 6, static fire tests of the solid fuel engine of the first stage took place there. Japan will provide a loan to Ukraine in the amount of about 3 billion dollars at the expense of the assets of the Russian Federation within the framework of the ERA mechanism, the total volume of which is approximately 50 billion dollars. The agreement in the format of exchange of notes was signed by Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko and Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome. The loan will be serviced and repaid with future profits from immobilized Russian sovereign assets. Financing is designed for 30 years. The raised funds will be used to cover the priority needs of the state budget, as well as to support the reconstruction and development of the country. «Japan is a vivid example of international solidarity, becoming one of the leading partners of Ukraine during our struggle for freedom and dignity.» Marchenko emphasized. He also reminded that over the past three years, Japan has already provided Ukraine with budget support of more than 8.5 billion dollars. The ERA mechanism provides Ukraine with 50 billion dollars from the G7 countries, with the subsequent return of these funds at the expense of revenues obtained from the use of frozen Russian assets. The planned volumes are as follows: 20 billion dollars will be provided by the USA, 20 billion by the EU, 3 billion by Great Britain, 3.7 billion by Canada and 3 billion by Japan. The program also provides that part of the funds received from the EU and Great Britain can be directed directly to finance defense needs.
