41% of state-owned companies turned out to be unprofitable: Opendatabot

According to the financial reports of state-owned enterprises for 2024, 41% of them ended the year with losses. About this informs The opendatabase.

The largest losses were recorded at such companies as Eastern Mining and Processing Plant — UAH 1.2 billion, Boryspil Airport — UAH 1.1 billion, Regional Electric Networks — UAH 732 million, Lviv Coal — UAH 301 million, and Energorynok — UAH 261 million.

The most profitable state enterprise was “Pavlograd Chemical Plant”, which earned more than UAH 6 billion. Its income increased 3.5 times and reached UAH 29 billion, which made the company a leader in terms of both profit and income.

The second place in terms of income was taken by the company “Forests of Ukraine” with an annual figure of UAH 23 billion. Its profit was UAH 2.5 billion, which made it possible to occupy the third position according to this criterion. “Ukrspecexport” became the third in terms of revenue — UAH 13 billion, although this is 2.3 times less than in 2023. The company’s profit amounted to UAH 94 million.

The second place in terms of profitability was taken by the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine — UAH 2.7 billion. At the same time, its revenue amounted to UAH 6.3 billion, which secured it fourth place among state-owned companies by this indicator.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, 963 state enterprises did not submit financial statements for 2024. This is 59% of the total number of registered state-owned enterprises. Among those that did file, 41% were unprofitable — about the same as the previous year.

Rivne was the only region where all state-owned enterprises submitted reports. Of the regions close to the front line or temporarily occupied, the indicators were expected to be the lowest: only 5% of state-owned enterprises in Donetsk region and 9% in Kherson region submitted reports.
