The Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law on state secrets

The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading draft law No. 11394 on state secrets, which was supported by 241 people’s deputies. About this reported co-chair of the “European Solidarity” faction Iryna Gerashchenko.
“The authorities want to include in the state secret information about the organization, condition and protection of critical infrastructure objects and information about the creation of a material and technical reserve for response and liquidation of their consequences at critical infrastructure objects.
That is, information about the funds spent on the construction and repair of critical infrastructure will also be a state secret. “The EU” will amend that this information cannot be hidden, because it is corruption.” Herashchenko noted.
The draft law provides for the expansion of the list of information in the field of state security and law and order, which can be classified as a state secret. In particular, such information is proposed to include data on the organization, content, condition and protection plans of critical infrastructure facilities.
Adoption of this draft law will contribute to the creation of legal grounds for limiting access to information about critical infrastructure. This will minimize the risks of its unauthorized circulation and reduce the likelihood of such data being used by the enemy, which may harm the national security of Ukraine.
