Several Ukrainians became winners of the Leonardo da Vinci Prize for 2025

The Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Academic Center for Science and Education (Germany – Italy) has announced the decision to award the Leonardo da Vinci International Literary Prize for 2025. Among the laureates of the honorary award found themselves several Ukrainians.

This is one of the most honorable international awards for contribution to the development of literature and culture.

According to the proposal of the International Literary and Art Academy of Ukraine (president — Serhii Dzyuba), this year’s laureates of the prestigious award were Hero of Ukraine, General, Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain Valery Zaluzhny, as well as Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev — for active participation in supporting of the three-volume edition “Chernihiv in Fire”, dedicated to the heroic defense of Ukraine against Russian aggression (a joint project of the newspaper “Chernihivshchyna” and OK “Pivnich”).

The prize was also awarded posthumously to the legendary singer Kvitka Tsysyk (USA), as well as to prominent Ukrainian poets Vasyl Bartsa (USA) and Bohdan Boychuk (USA).

In addition, according to the proposal of the International Academy of Writers, Arts and Communications and the World Association “Gloria” (Germany, president – Olena Ananieva), the 2025 laureates for significant contribution to cultural development were: Antonia Tsvid (Ukraine), Yury Pismak (Ukraine), Mykola Ostapchuk (Ukraine), Martin Gaudreault (Canada), Reinhard Auer (Austria), Brajech Kumar Gupta Mewadev (India). and Saria Mammadova (Azerbaijan).
