In Ukraine, work has begun on the creation of a test site for the use of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies in the field of mine countermeasures. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Representatives of the Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Defense and Environmental Security, the UN Development Program, the Ministry of Economy and the National Defense Industry Association visited the location of the future training ground and discussed the prospects of its use for testing modern technologies.
“This is the first step within the initiative to create an innovative testing ground. Together with our partners, we identified the key areas of further work and decided to create a training and testing complex for the development of technologies in the field of mine action, where not only technology modernization will be carried out, but also a bank of innovative solutions will be formed.” — said the representative of the Main Department of Mine Action, Olga Drobot.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the UN Development Program and the Ministry of Economy are interested in the development of this project as a basis for creating a platform for innovations in humanitarian demining. The next steps include developing a roadmap, forming a working group and preparing for the first tests.
