A new automated system of customs clearance has been implemented at all road crossing points of the state border

Change is always a cause for concern, especially when it comes to borders and customs procedures. For Ukrainian refugees who have been forced to leave their homes in search of safety, any delay or unpredictability at the border can become a source of additional stress. However, yesterday’s news from the State Customs Service of Ukraine brings good news: the introduction of a new automated customs clearance system promises to facilitate and speed up this process for all citizens, including those who are forced to cross the border in search of protection.

August 16 State Customs Service of Ukraine announced on the successful completion of the implementation of the new automated customs clearance system at all automobile checkpoints on the state border. This important step became part of a large-scale digital reform aimed at optimizing processes, simplifying procedures, saving time and reducing costs for businesses. However, most importantly, this system ensures the acceleration of border crossing for citizens, among whom Ukrainian refugees occupy a special place.

The new customs clearance system not only automates the process, but also greatly simplifies it. By integrating with the new automated risk management system, customs officials can more effectively identify and minimize risks associated with the movement of goods across borders. For citizens, this means a reduction in the number of checks and delays, which is especially important for those who cross the border in emergency conditions.

The transition to the new system took place smoothly and gradually, which made it possible to avoid disruptions in the operation of checkpoints. Thanks to the coordinated work of the State Customs Service and customs teams throughout the country, all checkpoints continued to operate as usual. This means that Ukrainian refugees who need to cross the border quickly and safely did not face additional difficulties due to the introduction of the new system.

A significant achievement was the ability of the new system to integrate with European customs systems. This is especially important in the context of the future European integration of Ukraine, because innovations are based on approaches and processes operating in EU countries. In the future, this will allow to further improve interaction with European partners and provide more comfortable conditions for Ukrainian citizens seeking asylum in European countries.

The State Customs Service expressed its gratitude to international partners for their financial support and active participation in the implementation of this project. With their support, it was possible to create a new fault-tolerant and disaster-resistant IT infrastructure, which ensures uninterrupted system operation and maximum data protection even in the most difficult conditions. This is another important aspect for Ukrainian refugees, because the security of their data is a priority.

The digital transformation taking place at the border brings Ukraine closer to European standards and makes crossing the border faster and safer for Ukrainian refugees. The introduction of a new automated system of customs clearance not only simplifies business life, but also provides support to those who find themselves in the most difficult conditions. For many Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes, these changes at the border mean faster access to safety and the opportunity to start a new life without unnecessary obstacles.
