Additional incentives are being prepared for contract workers aged 18-24: Umerov

There are currently no plans to lower the mobilization age in Ukraine, but the Ministry of Defense is preparing new incentives for contract workers aged 18-24. About this reported Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov.
According to Umyerov, after a thorough analysis of the participation of young contractors in combat operations, the military command highly appreciated their professionalism, determination and endurance.
“About two weeks ago, the Ministry of Defense received structured feedback from the front, which confirmed: despite skepticism, units with 18-24 contractors are showing effective results. This became an important morale boost for the entire system.” – explained the minister.
He noted that the “18-24” program is constantly evaluated in three areas – financial conditions, quantitative composition and quality of training.
“The Ministry of Defense is ready to improve the motivational package and offer even more incentives for young people who decide to enter into a contract. The work is ongoing – through data analysis, surveys, focus groups”Umerov added.
The minister also emphasized that this program is completely voluntary and all decisions regarding age changes are made only at the political level.
“Contractors 18-24 demonstrated high readiness and confident actions in battles. We saw them on the battlefield – and this is really motivating. Their professionalism, endurance and fortitude became another confirmation that the young generation is able to effectively defend the state already today. This is a powerful human resource that should be supported and developed. And the state will do this by improving the motivational package of the project.”Umerov stressed.
