An An-24 passenger plane crashes in Russia: all passengers and crew members die

On July 24, an An-24 passenger plane carrying 43 passengers and six crew members crashed in the Amur region of the Russian Federation. According to preliminary data, all people died. Information about the accident was spread by the Russian mass media, rescue services and representatives of local authorities.

In the morning, the plane flying along the Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk – Tynda route disappeared from the radar at the end of the flight. As reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Amur region, the ship did not send any alarm signals before the loss of communication.

Later, the Amur Civil Protection and Fire Safety Center confirmed that the wreckage of the plane was found on a mountainside, 16 kilometers from Tinda. The fuselage was engulfed in flames. There were 49 people on board, including the crew. Everyone died beforehand.

According to the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office, the plane went into the second circle during the landing, after which the communication with the board disappeared. The rescue services have already found the fuselage engulfed in fire, and the wreckage of the An-24 scattered over a distance of about half a kilometer. Due to the difficult conditions, the search helicopter was unable to land in the area of the crash, so rescuers are preparing to descend to the crash site with the help of ropes.

It will be recalled that on July 14, the wreckage of the Russian Mi-8 helicopter, which disappeared on July 13, was found in the Khabarovsk Territory. According to law enforcement agencies, all five people on board died.
