Children of war

Another 12 children were returned to Ukraine from the occupied territories

The ongoing war in eastern Ukraine has brought a lot of grief and loss, particularly among the most vulnerable part of society – children. They found themselves in extremely difficult conditions, becoming hostages of circumstances that no child should have to go through. The return of children from the occupied territories becomes a priority task for the state, because it is not only the restoration of justice, but also the opportunity to return them to a normal childhood and ensure a safe future. This process requires enormous efforts, coordination and support both at the national and international levels.

One of the last successful operations in this direction was the return to the territory controlled by Ukraine of 12 more children who were previously in the temporarily occupied territories. This achievement was made possible thanks to the “Bring Kids Back UA” initiative launched by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. This program aims to return Ukrainian children who were under occupation to their families and to a safe territory.

According to the message of the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, in his Telegram channel, children and their families were evacuated from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. Among the rescued are two boys and four girls aged from 3 to 12 years. Currently, all evacuees are in safety, where doctors and psychologists are working with them, providing the necessary medical and psychological assistance.

This operation is another step in the struggle for the return of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories. She also reiterates the importance of international support and cooperation in this matter. It is important to understand that initiatives such as “Bring Kids Back UA” not only help bring children home, but also remind the world community that the war in Ukraine continues to harm the most vulnerable sections of the population.
