Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov reported on the deployment of full-fledged robotic units as part of the Armed Forces brigades at the front. At the same time, the experience of using unmanned ground systems will be taken into account.
“We are implementing innovative technologies in the Defense Forces to preserve our soldiers. The Ministry of Defense is launching a project that will allow scaling up the use of unmanned ground systems in the military. Ukraine is increasing the production of these systems and deploying full-fledged robotic units as part of the combat brigades of the Armed Forces on the front line.” – says the message.
The minister noted that this project is based on the experience of tests that have been conducted since the summer of 2024 in cooperation with military personnel. According to him, unmanned ground systems have confirmed their effectiveness in performing various combat missions. They are able to conduct both offensive and defensive operations, provide units logistically, evacuate the wounded from the battlefield, and carry out demining and demining of territories.
“It is extremely important that the main suppliers of ground robotic complexes are leading domestic companies. Ukrainian manufacturers have adapted their products to the conditions of modern warfare and the recommendations of combat units of the Defense Forces.” – emphasized Umerov.
