China is reducing exports of UAV parts to the US and Europe

The People’s Republic of China (PRC) has begun restricting exports of drone components to the US and Europe, and the measures could be even tougher starting next year. About this informs Bloomberg.

Drones have become an important part of defense strategies, particularly for Ukraine, which further draws attention to this issue. The trade conflict between China and the United States now covers the field of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Chinese manufacturers have already begun restricting supplies of key components such as motors, batteries and flight controllers used to build drones. This applies to both the USA and European countries. Western experts believe that these actions may only be preparation for wider restrictions that China plans to introduce in 2025.

The conflict between the two economic giants escalated when the US imposed new restrictions on exports to China of high-tech semiconductors and chips. In response, Beijing banned the supply of dual-purpose goods and a range of materials with military and high-tech applications to American companies.

Such measures have caused prices to rise and changes in global trade chains as companies scramble to find alternative suppliers. According to Bloomberg, China also applies restrictions to goods with Chinese components, regardless of whether they are produced domestically or abroad.
