On the night of June 13, a series of powerful explosions rang out across the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea. Mass drone attacks and the active operation of Russian anti-aircraft vehicles were widely reported on social networks.
After 03:00, residents of Simferopol and nearby areas heard explosions and the sound of drones flying. Also, explosions were recorded in Yevpatoria, Sevastopol, Bakhchisaray district, Feodosia, Alushta, Saky, Novofedorivka, Kacha and Kirovsk district. According to preliminary data, the drones could hit military facilities, including the Saka, Gvardiyske and Kirovske airfields.
Particularly strong explosions rang out in the Perevalny district, where, according to local residents, a military unit of the Russian forces is located. Eyewitnesses heard the buzzing of drones and loud explosions accompanying the operation of air defense systems over all these settlements. The 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and the 8th Artillery Regiment are stationed in this area.
It will be recalled that on June 11, US President Donald Trump spoke about the role of drones in hostilities in Ukraine, calling it a “war of drones”. According to him, it was a surprise to him how powerful combat drones can be.
