Danylo Hetmantsev spoke about budget revenues from de-shadowing

In 10 months of 2024, receipts to the state budget from detinization in dollar terms reached the amount of 1.67 billion dollars, reported Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev. This amount is equal to the amount of budget support from Canada, which is the fifth largest donor to Ukraine. These funds, which previously settled in the shadow sector among producers of illegal alcohol, fuel, tobacco, and on the contraband market, are now largely included in the budget, reducing corruption flows in state structures.
Detinization revenues from taxes administered by the State Tax Service account for 6.1% of all international aid received this year. Hetmantsev emphasized that if the results at the customs exceeded the planned indicators (which is currently underachieved by 0.8% in 10 months, and by 13% in October), then the contribution of detinization to the budget would be even more significant. He added that work in this direction remains a priority to strengthen budget stability.
We will remind, earlier Hetmantsev evaluated the possibility of receiving 70-80 billion hryvnias to the budget from the detinization of the economy in 70-80 billion hryvnias. He also stated that “approximately half of Ukraine’s economy is in the shadows, and in certain sectors, such as trade, this indicator can reach 60-70%.”
