“Having suffered numerous losses as a result of prolonged battles, the enemy did not stop trying to capture Vugledar. In an effort to take control of the city at any cost, he managed to direct reserves to carry out flanking attacks, which exhausted the defense of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”, the message says.
According to the information of the “Khortytsia” Security Service, as a result of the actions of the Russian troops, a real threat to the encirclement of the city arose.
“The higher command has given permission to carry out a maneuver to withdraw units from Ugledar for the purpose of preserving personnel and combat equipment, taking a position for further actions”, – noted in the group.
What’s happening in Vugledar Earlier, the BBC reported that Russian troops are in almost complete control of Vugledar, which Ukrainian defenders have held since the start of a full-scale invasion.
There have been no official statements from the General Staff of Ukraine about the final loss of the city yet, but pro-Kremlin sources are publishing video footage showing Russian soldiers with flags on buildings in Vugledar.
