Details about the murder of a soldier from the TCC in the Poltava region have become known

A military officer of the TCC, who was shot at a gas station in Pyryatin, did not agree to hand over his weapon to the attacker. The suspect and his accomplice were promptly detained. As reported Roman Istomin, spokesman of the regional TCC and SP, a man in a balaclava approached the military man and began to demand that he lay down or hand over his weapon. However, the soldier refused to comply with this demand. After that, the attacker fired a shot at close range.
As reported by the Ground Forces, one of the attackers was himself previously mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces. In 2023, he passed the medical board, which found him limited fit for duty, after which he was sent to the territorial recruitment center. It is known that the deceased serviceman was also mobilized and served in the TCC. He had a family – a wife and children.
The case is being investigated under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspects are charged with premeditated murder (Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code), illegal possession of weapons (Part 1, Article 263 of the Criminal Code) and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty they face is up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
At the scene of the crime, investigators conducted a complex of operative and investigative measures, as well as an investigative experiment, in order to reconstruct the events of that night in detail. Currently, examinations are ongoing, which should confirm all the circumstances of the attack and establish the motives of the criminals.
We will remind, on the night of January 31, a serviceman of the territorial procurement center was killed at a gas station near Pyryatin. As soon as the attacker fired the shot, he took the automatic weapon from the victim and disappeared from the scene of the crime together with an accomplice. Doctors who quickly arrived at the scene tried to save the soldier, but the wound turned out to be fatal – he died on the spot.
Immediately after the murder, law enforcement officers began an investigation. A large-scale search for the attacker and his accomplice was organized, and within a few hours both attackers were found and arrested. The attacker was a resident of Poltava region born in 1984, who fled with his accomplice, a man born in 1988. During their detention, stolen weapons were seized.
