“Dream” for children: schools are testing a new smartphone learning application

The process of transition to electronic document management has reached Ukrainian schools. From now on, diaries, lesson schedules, magazines and homework will be available on smartphones – the “Dream” application has been tested in Ukraine.
40 schools from six oblasts and Kyiv participated in the application testing. “Dream” is intended for students, teachers and parents.
“Dream”: functional for students
In particular, the application will upload the document Mriya ID – this is an electronic version of the student card. The paper version of the student card currently gives schoolchildren the opportunity to travel in public transport with discounts and some other benefits. After the full implementation of the “Dream” there will be no need to issue a paper ticket.
Also, in the application, schoolchildren will receive homework and will be able to chat with teachers or classmates. The application messenger is completely safe, as it is built on the basis of Signal.
In addition, “Mriya” provides children with access to a large amount of educational material, e-books, etc.
Application features for parents
The application will allow mothers and fathers of schoolchildren to follow the achievements of students, receive feedback from teachers, check homework or monitor their completion. “Dream” also contains useful literature on raising children and books with advice for parents.
What is offered to teachers?
Teachers will receive convenient electronic forms for a calendar plan, a journal, and a lesson schedule. The application also contains a separate library of useful resources for teachers.
Already this year in every school
The application was developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the Ministry of Education and Science with the support of the EGAP program implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation.
Testing of “Dream” will take place in three stages. First, specialists, students and teachers from 40 schools will test the functionality of the application. Then, through “Mria”, they will prepare for the new academic year and test it in the conditions of a real educational process. After that, the schools will provide feedback, based on which the developers will improve the program.
The Ministry of Education promises that all schools that show such a desire will be able to install the “Dream” by the end of this year.
