Drones attacked military airfields of the Russian Federation and enterprises that work in the defense industry.

On the night of May 7, an attack by drones was recorded in Russia, which struck objects in Saransk and Tula. Enterprises working to support the occupying army, as well as two military airfields, were targeted. About this reported Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Combating Disinformation.
“In Russia, important industrial complex enterprises were attacked, and Moscow again hit the civilian infrastructure of our cities, killing people”, he wrote.
In Saransk, the plant of optical fiber systems was hit – a key facility of the Russian defense industry, which is engaged in the production of fiber optic cables and communication systems for the Russian army, in particular for drones operating on fiber optics.
In Tula, JSC “Design Bureau of Instrumentation” was attacked – a leading enterprise of the Russian military industry, which is engaged in the development of modern weapons, including anti-tank systems, small arms and combat modules. Its products are widely used in the war against Ukraine.
The company SPLAV, the main developer of rocket launcher systems in Russia, was also attacked. It was here that such systems as “Grad”, “Uragan” and “Smerch” were created, which are actively used in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine.
“The company has a close relationship with the Rostec concern and remains one of the priority manufacturers of weapons for the Russian army”, Kovalenko explained.
Due to the attack in Saransk, the local authorities canceled classes in schools, universities and kindergartens, and also banned the publication of videos and photos of the consequences of the attacks. Two military airfields came under fire: the Shaykovka airfield in the Kaluga region, where Tu-22M3 strategic bombers are based and missiles are stored, including the Kh-22, and the Kubinka airbase in the Moscow region, where Su-27 and MiG-29 fighters are located.
