DTEK named the reasons why it took so long to restore power supply

This week, Russian forces launched another massive attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the 11th in the full-scale war and the second in the past two weeks. In connection with this, the power outage schedules were urgently updated. In the DTEK company explained why Ukrainians face long interruptions in the supply of light.

According to the company, Russian troops have started using Kalibr missiles with cluster munitions.

“It is much more difficult to eliminate the consequences of a strike with such missiles”, says the message.

Power engineers are working on setting up backup power schemes, but the situation remains complex and unpredictable. This forces the power outage schedules to change several times a day. Ukrainians are advised to follow updates through official sources.

During the latest attack, Russia launched 188 aerial targets over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 76 cruise missiles, including Kh-101 and Kalibr types, 3 Kh-59/69 guided air missiles and 35 drones.

Despite this, 12 hits were recorded, mainly on fuel and energy infrastructure facilities. According to the State Emergency Service, objects were damaged in Rivne, Lviv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions.
