Explosives near cars: police talk about sabotage against security forces and civilians
Recently, an alarming wave of sabotage against security forces and civilians using explosives has been recorded in Ukraine. Attackers don’t just attack, they do it cunningly and cynically, using modern technologies to control and launch devices. All this looks like well-planned acts of terror aimed at destabilizing and intimidating society.
Recently, one such case happened – in Kyiv, a package was lying next to a car, and a camera was attached to a tree nearby, which transmitted everything that was happening in real time. The watchman, making a tour of the territory, noticed this package. Bending down to inspect its contents, he fell victim to an explosive device that was activated remotely.
Another tragic incident, about which November 22 reported Kyiv police, happened in the Dnipro district of the capital. The man approached the box that was standing next to the vehicle. When he took it in his hands, it detonated and there was an explosion. The victim died of his injuries on the spot. The police are establishing the identity of the deceased and the circumstances of the incident. Explosive technicians, an investigative and operational group, a forensic medical expert and other services worked on the spot. Preliminary findings indicate that this is another planned terrorist attack.
IA “FAKT” turned to Kharkiv police officers for a comment.
According to law enforcement officers, criminals place an ordinary package or box next to cars in a parking lot or other public place. A camera is installed nearby, which broadcasts everything online. In the case in question, the guard went around the area and saw a package near the car. Approaching it, he did not even have time to touch it, but simply bent down to look. At that time, the explosive device, which was activated remotely, via the SIM card of the mobile operator, went off.
Also, the camera, which filmed all this, broadcast it online via a SIM card and transmitted the information to criminals. That is, a person is watched through a camera, and when they approach a bag or box, an explosion occurs, directed upwards, as they lean towards the bag. So, we see how criminals use technologies that allow remote activation of explosives at the moment when the victim approaches or leans towards the object.
This is not the first case, such events happened near the Darnytskyi and Pecherskyi district police departments, in Sumy, Chernihiv. In general, similar cases occur throughout Ukraine.
“We want to warn all citizens to be as careful as possible! If you see a suspicious object that does not belong to you and was not left by you, do not touch it under any circumstances. In this case, you must immediately call the police on 102 and wait for the arrival of specialists – sappers”, – emphasized the police officers.
They also said that all these cases indicate carefully planned acts of terror aimed at causing panic and destabilizing the situation in the country.
This wave of terror is a challenge not only for security forces, but also for the whole society. Therefore, it is necessary not only to strengthen security measures, but also to raise citizens’ awareness of potential threats. Saboteurs play on human curiosity and the habit of not suspecting danger in everyday things. That is why it is important to remind: in the current conditions, any unusual situation can turn out to be deadly.
