Famous activist Demyan Ganul was shot dead in Odesa (video)

On March 14, a well-known activist, Demyan Hanul, was shot dead in Odesa’s Primorsky district. The shooter fled the scene of the crime, measures are being taken to apprehend him. About this reported People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
“According to information from my sources, Demyan Hanul was killed in Odesa. Minister of Internal Affairs Klymenko is taking the investigation of the murder under personal control. Klymenko stated this during the meeting of the Council, responding to my request to urgently investigate this murder.” – the message says.
Ihor Klymenko reported that an investigative-operational group and criminalists of the Central Office of the National Police, led by the head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi, were sent to Odesa to investigate the high-profile murder.
“I have been informed of the information that has been collected so far. There are concrete clues. Police operatives and investigators are working to establish the identity of the shooter and arrest him. Additionally, I would like to note that the information that the shooter was dressed in a military uniform is not true.” – emphasized the official.
In the National Police Department in the Odesa region reported, that criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the murder of an Odessa public figure. The information is entered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under p. 11 a.m. 2 Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (premeditated murder committed to order).
It is noted that an unknown person shot a 31-year-old man and disappeared from the scene. Currently, investigators, criminalists and operatives continue to work at the crime scene, measures are being taken to detain the suspect.
Demyan Hanul was born in 1993 in the Kirovohrad region. He was a public figure, volunteer, blogger and eco-activist. He founded and headed the “Street Front” public organization, took an active part in the Revolution of Dignity and resistance to separatists in Odessa. In 2014-2016, he headed the “Right Sector” power bloc in Odesa.
Hanul took part in actions to close drug outlets in Odesa, protests against the construction of the Summer Theater and the Black Sea coast, in “trash lustrations”, patriotic marches and other public events.
In 2020, he ran for the Odesa City Council from the “National Corps” party, but the party did not overcome the 5% electoral barrier. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Hanul has been actively helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer.
