Fico criticized Slovakia’s opposition for traveling to Ukraine

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, spoke about the recent visit of members of the Slovak Parliament to Kyiv and their meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, calling it a gesture of pandering. This was reported by the Slovak publication Pravda.
“I have absolutely no problem with the fact that the delegation of “Progressive Slovakia” went to Kyiv. When you have no powers or duties, you can conduct negotiations on a space station on Mars.” he said.
Fico accused opposition politicians of showing submission, saying they “kiss Zelenskyi’s ring” and promise to support Ukraine’s accession to NATO if he wins power.
“We are preparing for all possible alternatives. We will be ready for everything. Mainly on the Maidan, that is, the coup d’état across the street, which the opposition, especially Progressive Slovakia, is striving for, – said the prime minister.
In addition, Fico reproached Zelensky for refusing to meet with him at the World Economic Forum in Davos. According to him, the Ukrainian president is “rubbing into the trust” of the newly elected US President Donald Trump and offers the US “all of Europe on a golden plate”, that is, in order for the US to supply the European market with increasingly expensive liquefied gas.
