From January 1, Israel introduces mandatory e-visas to enter the country

Starting January 1, 2025, tourists will need a visa or ETA-IL permit to enter Israel, except for Israeli citizens and those with an Israeli ID number. About this informs The Jerusalem Post.

Dual nationals, one of whom is Israeli, will be able to travel to the country with their foreign passports until the end of 2025, after which they will also need to issue an ETA-IL.

This permit is an electronic travel registration form and costs 25 shekels (about 7 USD). Each tourist submits an application separately. The ETA-IL will be valid for up to two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.

The permit allows a stay in Israel for up to 90 days. To extend this period, it is necessary to apply to the Israel Population and Immigration Authority. The application for ETA-IL is submitted online, for which you need to provide personal data, passport information, the reason for the visit and upload a high-quality photo.

Such an application is recommended to be submitted several weeks before the planned visit, and the passport used must be valid for at least six months. At the same time, the ETA-IL permit is not a guarantee of entry into the country. The final decision is made by the border control after checking all the necessary documents.
