German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock arrives in Kyiv on a visit

On Monday, 4 November, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock arrived in Kyiv. Her visit began with a night train from Poland, Reuters reports.

Burbock noted that ‘almost a thousand days of Putin’s war have affected the daily lives of Ukrainians, but their courage and hope for a free life in an independent Ukraine remain unbroken.’

She underlined the importance of supporting Ukraine, especially as Kyiv prepares for a third winter of war, compounded by North Korea’s arms shipments to Russia and Russia’s active shelling of civilian infrastructure.

We stand against this brutality with our humanity and support so that Ukrainians can not only survive the winter, but also so that their country can survive. Because they are also defending the freedom of all of us in Europe,’ she said.

During her visit, Burbock plans to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.
