Hetmantsev reported a decrease of almost 40% in tax revenues from the gambling business

For the first six months of 2025, tax revenues from the gambling business amounted to UAH 9.6 billion, which is only 14.7% (UAH 1.2 billion) higher than the same figure last year. At the same time, a decline in the payment of taxes was recorded in June — the volumes were lower by almost 40%. About this reported Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.
“In June, there was a negative in general: the payment of taxes was requested by 37.9% (-401 million UAH), taxes from Favbet decreased by 57.5 million UAH, sales through the PRO also decreased by 434 million UAH until May.” – said the deputy.
He described the dynamics as “disappointing” and called for stronger tax control in the sector.
“The numbers speak for themselves. Decisive steps are needed for detinization and real control”, – added Hetmantsev.
In 2024, the gaming industry transferred UAH 17 billion in taxes to the state budget. However, even at the end of last year, Hetmantsev drew attention to signs of a decrease in income.
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Yaroslav Zhelezniak noted that the overall tax burden is decreasing: the share of taxes in the total amount of replenishments from gambling operators is becoming smaller. According to him, this shows that tax evasion schemes persist in the industry.
