Adoption is not only a noble step, but also an important contribution to the future of the country, helping children who are left without parental care. In 2024, the Ukrainian government offers significant social benefits for families who have adopted children into their families. To facilitate the process of receiving this assistance, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine introduced the possibility of submitting applications through the online service “Diya”. This allows you to issue payments quickly and conveniently without the need to stand in lines or waste time on paper bureaucracy.
Who can receive payments and the amount of assistance
Social assistance for the adoption of a child is assigned to each adopted child, provided that the adopter applies for its appointment no later than 12 calendar months after the date of entry into legal force of the court decision on adoption. If the adoptive parents are a married couple, one of the parents is entitled to help at their discretion.
The amount of the benefit is set at the level of payments at the birth of a child – 41,280 hryvnias. This amount is paid in installments: 10,320 hryvnias are paid once, and the rest of the amount is paid in equal installments over the next 36 months.
How to apply for payments online
You can make an application online in “Diya” according to the following algorithm:
- Follow the link to the official portal “Diya”.
- Click the “Submit application” button and authorize using “Action.Signature”, file or hardware key.
- Specify the data of the child/children for whom you need to apply for assistance.
- Choose a method of receiving assistance.
- Enter data on the court decision on adoption.
- Check the generated application and sign it with an electronic signature or “Action.Signature”. Then send the application for consideration to the body of social protection of the population.
- The status of the application will be displayed in the personal account on the “Action” portal.
You will also receive a notification about the consideration of the application to your e-mail. The application review period is 10 days.
The adopter can also submit an application for assistance by applying to the structural subdivisions for social protection of the population, to the executive body of the village, settlement, city council, or to the National Center for Social Security at the place of residence.
