In July, more funds were received into the National Bank’s special account to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine than in the entire year of 2024

In July 2025, more than 17 billion hryvnias were deposited into a special account opened by the National Bank of Ukraine in the first days of the full-scale war to collect funds for the needs of the Armed Forces. This is more than for the entire year 2024, when the amount of donations amounted to about 16 billion hryvnias. About this reported NBU press office.

According to the regulator, the largest amounts were received on July 1 (UAH 3.47 billion), July 9 (UAH 6.35 billion) and July 16 (UAH 6.76 billion). In just one month, the amount of transfers exceeded 17 billion hryvnias. The main part of receipts was made in euros. The revitalization of the dynamics is connected with the growth of aid from Europe, in particular from Denmark and France. At the same time, the NBU did not report specific sources of these funds.

The previous record for the volume of receipts to the special account was recorded at the beginning of the year — in January and the first 11 days of February, the total amount of donations reached 15 billion hryvnias. At that time, the largest transfer came from a legal entity from Denmark, the name of which the National Bank did not disclose. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the special account of the NBU has received 83.82 billion hryvnias in hryvnia equivalent. Of this amount, 75.44 billion hryvnias were used.

The National Bank explains that unused funds remain in the account due to the fact that spending decisions are made only on the basis of official requests from the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other defense structures that carry out tasks for the defense of the country.
