In Kryvyi Rih, students were allowed to take dogs and cats to lectures

One of the universities is in Kryvyi Rih implemented a new initiative, allowing students to come to class with their pets. In addition, the institution sheltered ten stray dogs, which are now taken care of by the administration.
“You can come with a dog, sometimes it’s even convenient when you walk with it and you can go in to find out something, pick up documents. Or during an air raid, Basia is very afraid of explosions, you can go to the shelter with her”, – said sophomore Serhii, who came to the university with his dog Baseya.
As the rector of the university, Andriy Shaikan, explained, the idea to make the institution animal-friendly arose at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, when people came to the shelter with their pets.
“One of our girls suggested: it would be great if we had European-style, open spaces. We supported and said: we will be Pet friendly. Since then, this rule has been extended to the entire university.” – he said.
Despite the distance learning format, the university often holds lectures and educational events in the animal shelter. According to the rector, this has become part of the institution’s culture.
