“We inform you that on June 27, 2025, the DESS started booking clergy leaders of religious organizations. As of the date of this response, 2,285 clergy leaders of religious organizations have gone through the reservation procedure.”, the message says.
The service also reported that today 7,726 religious organizations have been recognized as critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihood of the population in a special period. They were selected from over 30,000 organizations officially registered in Ukraine.
The selection was made according to seven criteria, which were approved in February this year. In particular, the religious organization must be registered in accordance with the current legislation, submit reports on the use of income and not have connections with foreign religious organizations whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine (primarily the Russian Orthodox Church).
State policy also intends to initiate the creation of mechanisms for the long-term stay of clergymen abroad in order to carry out pastoral activities among Ukrainian refugees.
