In Ukraine, the procedure for the implementation of fishery land reclamation was approved

The order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, which approved the Procedure for implementing fishery melioration of water bodies and fishery technological reservoirs, entered into force. About this are reported in the State Agency of Ukraine for the Development of Land Reclamation, Fisheries and Food Programs.

The document defines the mechanism of fisheries reclamation by aquaculture entities with the aim of purposefully increasing the biological productivity of water bodies. It is also aimed at improving the conditions of existence of aquaculture facilities, their quantitative and qualitative characteristics, as well as regulating the number of low-value species for the effective commercial production of hydrobionts.

Fisheries reclamation involves a set of measures aimed at optimizing hydrological, hydrochemical and hydrobiological regimes, increasing the biological productivity of reservoirs, improving the conditions for the natural reproduction of aquatic biological resources, and improving their qualitative composition to ensure the preservation and rational use of water resources.

Such measures include dredging or removal of bottom sediments, clearing water bodies of excess aquatic vegetation, introducing aquaculture facilities, and creating artificial bottom landscapes to improve the ecological condition of water bodies. In addition, removal of predatory and low-value species is provided to prevent their negative impact on the main types of aquaculture, as well as measures to prevent the mass death of hydrobionts and eliminate its consequences.
