Israel resumes military operation in Gaza Strip

On the night of March 18, the Israeli army resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip, striking the positions of Hamas militants. About this informs Times of Israel.

According to the information of the Israeli military, powerful strikes are currently being carried out on objects belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF also noted that after assessing the situation at 02:00, the defense instructions from the Israeli Rear Command will be updated. This involves the introduction of restrictions on the work of educational institutions in Israeli settlements located near Gaza. As part of these changes, the activities of communities in the border zone with Gaza will be limited – educational institutions will not work.

The Office of Prime Minister Netanyahu reported that the Hamas group rejected all proposals that came from the US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and other mediators regarding the continuation of the ceasefire regime.

In the statement of the Israeli Chancellery regarding the night strike on militant targets in Gaza, it is noted that the attacks are aimed at the implementation of Israel’s military objectives — the destruction of the military and leadership structure of Hamas and the release of hostages.

According to medics and eyewitnesses, three houses were destroyed in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, another building in Gaza City, and targets in Khan Younis and Rafah were also hit. Health officials in Hamas-controlled Gaza said the death toll had risen to 232 overnight, with more than 1,000 injured.
