Jean-Claude Van Damme became a defendant in a human trafficking case

Jean-Claude Van Damme became a participant in criminal proceedings in Romania, which investigates the activities of a network of human trafficking, including minors. About this informs Freedom.

The actor is accused of using the sexual services of Romanian girls who, according to the investigation, were victims of exploitation. According to investigative materials, the incidents involving the actor may have taken place about ten years ago in Cannes, France. Then he probably used the services of five Romanian women who were forced into prostitution. The statement against Van Dam was filed by one of the potential victims, who is currently 26 years old.

“It happened in Cannes, and the crime that Van Damme is accused of is using the services of people who have been exploited.” – noted the actor’s lawyer.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is suspected of three counts: using the services of an exploited person, involvement in the activities of a criminal group, and human trafficking. The investigation into the human trafficking case in Romania has been ongoing since 2022.

According to the prosecutor’s office, a criminal network led by Romanian businessman Morel Bolea recruited young women under the pretext of working in the modeling business. In fact, they were forced into sexualized exploitation using psychological pressure. According to law enforcement officials, the criminal activity lasted from 2000 to 2016. To date, five victims have been identified.
