Judge who imprisoned participants of the Revolution of Dignity resigns and goes to life imprisonment

The Supreme Council of Justice approved the resignation of Yulia Ivanina, judge of the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv, who is now on life support. About this reported “Investigation.info” project.

According to journalists, judge Ivanina will receive approximately 350 thousand hryvnias in severance pay, and her monthly payments will amount to more than 60 thousand hryvnias.

Ivanina began her judicial career in 2007 in the Primorye District Court of the Zaporizhzhia Region, in 2010 she moved to the Komunarsky District Court of Zaporizhzhia, and since 2013 she has worked as a judge in the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv. In 2014, during the events of the Revolution of Dignity, she chose preventive measures in the form of detention for two Maidan activists. In addition, Ivanina revoked the driver’s license of one of the participants of Avtomaidan, who was on his way to Mezhihirya, the residence of the then president Viktor Yanukovych.

Subsequently, taking into account the law “On the prevention of persecution of participants of peaceful protests”, she released two activists from administrative responsibility.

As “Slidstvo.info” reports, Ivanina was several times accused of not declaring real estate and the cars she used. In 2018, she was temporarily removed from her position and deprived of part of her salary payments. At the same time, she was required to undergo a qualification assessment, which she never completed.
