International Rock Day

The idea belonged to Edna May Anderson, who organized a women’s group and movement to promote music in hair salons.

The World Day of the Year is celebrated mainly in Brazil. It was installed in honor of rock music and the iconic charity concert Live Aid in 1985, which raised significant funds for the relief of the starving in Ethiopia.

International Puzzle Day

Also known as Rubik’s Day, this day is celebrated in honor of the birthday of Dr. Erno Rubik, the creator of the famous Rubik’s Cube.

This day is dedicated to more than just the celebration of the Rubik’s Cube, an amazing three-dimensional puzzle created in 1974 by the Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik. It also celebrates the joy of solving complex problems and the spirit of intellectual challenge that all puzzles embody.

The Rubik’s Cube has quickly gained popularity since its inception and has become one of the most beloved puzzles in the world, with over 350 million copies sold. Its appeal lies in its astonishing complexity – the cube is estimated to have over 43 quintillion possible combinations. This puzzle is a challenging challenge and only a few can solve it in less than 20 seconds.

Historical events of this day:

1908 – IV Olympic Games opened in London, where women took part for the first time. This step was revolutionary for the time, opening up new opportunities for women in sports.

July 13, 1960 Oles Buzina was born in Kyiv – Ukrainian writer, historian, journalist, TV presenter. It was named after the Ukrainian Soviet writer Oles Honchar.

On April 16, 2015, Oles Buzin was killed.
