Kellogg announced the completion of the preparation of a new package of US sanctions against Russia

A package of new US sanctions against Russia has already been prepared and, according to the US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, it is “burdensome”. This is what he is about stated on Fox News.

Kellogg said he had a conversation with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham last weekend and believes the sanctions package is ready.

“They’re called the Russia Sanctions Act of 2025, and I believe he’s already drafted them and is ready to release them. And they’re pretty onerous.”, – noted Kellogg.

Among possible measures, he mentioned, in particular, a 500% tariff on imports to the US. At the same time, according to Kellogg, the Congress and the administration of the White House do not yet have a complete agreement on this issue.

“Russia is an oil country. It receives most of its income from the petrochemical industry. It is this industry that these sanctions are aimed at.”, Kellogg added.

It will be recalled that on April 27, after Donald Trump’s statements about the possibility of new sanctions against Putin, Senator Lindsey Graham recalled his draft law, which provides for secondary duties for countries that buy resources from the Russian Federation. On May 1, Graham announced that more than 70 senators supported the bill, and later the number of supporters increased to 81.
