Kim Jong-un personally observed the testing of new kamikaze drones in North Korea

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un personally attended the test of the latest kamikaze drones developed by the Unmanned Aviation Technology Association. According to the state agency KCNA, the tests took place on November 14 with the participation of the top leadership of the DPRK. According to the official message of the North Korean agency, the drones demonstrated high accuracy of hitting land and sea targets, successfully completing all tasks.

Also, the official message states that Kim Jong-un highly appreciated the results of the tests, stressing that the creation of serial production of these drones is a priority task for the armed forces. He noted that drones play a key role in modern military affairs, and North Korea needs to be at the forefront of this field. Amid global competition in military technology, Kim Jong-un stressed the importance of updating defense strategies and developing new tactics to ensure superiority on the battlefield.

At the same time, the strengthening of military cooperation between the DPRK and Russia causes concern at the international level. In particular, Western analysts draw attention to the possibility that new North Korean developments may be used by Russia in military operations, in particular against Ukraine.

Ukrainian intelligence has already reported the presence of North Korean technical personnel in the occupied territories and the training of tens of thousands of North Korean soldiers in Russia. In addition, in October, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that the DPRK actually supports Russia in its aggression, providing it not only with weapons, but also with human resources. These actions were also confirmed by the Pentagon: US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin announced that North Korean troops had already arrived in Russia.

Official Pyongyang denies these accusations, calling them “baseless rumours”, however, the treaty concluded between the Russian Federation and the DPRK on “comprehensive strategic partnership”, ratified by the State Duma in October, only increases suspicions about the real extent of cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere.
