Studio “Kvartal 95” caused indignation in social networks because of a video advertising a New Year’s concert, published on their Instagram page. It showed a map of Ukraine without the temporarily occupied Crimea. After criticism, the video was removed and replaced with a new version.
In the first version of the video, actress Oleksandra Mashlyatina performed a song with the words: “The only “Kvartal” has a therapeutic option: Russia is disappearing from the planet Earth.” A map of Ukraine without Crimea appeared on the screen, and the territory of Russia was replaced by the inscription “ocean of dreams”.
After a flurry of criticism, the studio exhibited updated the video, emphasizing that “betrayal is undone.”
“The contrast has been increased so that Crimea can be seen by everyone who has a sharp “deterioration of vision”. We are not ophthalmologists, but there is a difference between “almost not visible” and “not visible”, just like there is a difference between opinion leaders and treason seekers”, says the message.
Earlier, a number of both foreign and Ukrainian mass media were involved in scandals due to the publication of a map of Ukraine without Crimea. In particular, the TV channel “Dom” released a program with a screen saver on which Crimea was marked as part of Russia. The representatives of the TV channel apologized for this incident and appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine for help in conducting an internal investigation.
