Large-scale exercises will be held in Germany in case of a Russian attack

This fall, Hamburg, Germany, will host large-scale military exercises simulating a possible Russian attack on NATO member states. About this informs NTV/dpa.

In September, the Bundeswehr will organize large-scale maneuvers focused on the operational transfer of allied forces in the event of a hypothetical armed conflict with Russia. Hamburg, as a port city, plays a key role in logistics, because it can become the main point of transportation of troops to the eastern flank of Europe.

Training called “Red Storm Bravo” will begin on September 25 and will last for three days around the clock. As part of the maneuvers, the military will train to move troops through the city, provide medical aid and evacuate the wounded.

Due to its location in the north of Germany, close to sea routes and borders with Scandinavian and Eastern European countries, Hamburg is considered a strategic logistics center for NATO. Its port, one of the largest in Europe, ensures the efficient transportation of goods, including military equipment, across the Baltic Sea.

Hamburg’s developed infrastructure, including ports, airports and railway networks, allows for the rapid mobilization of alliance forces. If the situation worsens, the city can become a major hub for the supply of equipment, weapons and resources to the east, contributing to the strengthening of NATO’s defense capabilities in response to a potential threat.
