Local budgets have collected 18% more taxes since the beginning of the year

In five months of the current year, receipts to local budgets increased by 18% compared to the same period last year and amounted to almost UAH 201 billion. About this reported Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko.

The main source of filling local budgets remains personal income tax — UAH 112.1 billion (an increase of 20.2% compared to last year). The single tax provided UAH 35.4 billion (an increase of 13.5%), the corporate income tax — UAH 17.7 billion (an increase of 21.1%), the property tax — UAH 22.4 billion (an increase of 14.8% in annual terms).

Among other sources of revenue for local budgets: excise tax on excise goods produced in Ukraine — more than 1 billion UAH (increase by 64.7%), tourist tax — 132 million UAH (increase by 33.8%) and environmental tax — 749.8 million UAH (increase by 3.9%).

“Together with communities, we systematically work to improve the efficiency of tax administration. After all, these are financial resources that should be used for the implementation of strategic projects – infrastructure, educational and social programs.” – stressed Ruslan Kravchenko.

As a reminder, in the first half of 2024, the general fund of local budgets received 208.7 billion UAH, which is 40.4 billion UAH, or 24% more compared to January-June 2023.

Local budgets recovered after the loss of the military personal income tax and increased revenues by almost UAH 90 billion for the year. The factors of the growth of local taxes and the potential for further growth are discussed in Forbes Ukraine. According to the results of last year, all communities were able to compensate for the loss of the personal income tax share, with the exception of Luhansk Oblast.
