Lukashenko spoke about preparing for war due to the threat of “adversaries” and “rivals”

Belarus should be ready for war, as its opponents are taking similar measures, even if there are no direct threats at the moment. This was stated by Oleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA reports.
“The old formula: if you want peace, prepare for war”, he said.
The Belarusian president emphasized that he does not seek conflicts and does not want to engage in hostilities. However, in his opinion, this does not prevent other countries from considering Belarus a potential threat and preparing for war.
“Our adversaries, our rivals, are listening to this, but they are doing their own thing. Those who are preparing against us, we will speak directly, we will fight. Therefore, we must prepare for war.”, – Lukashenko added.
He also expressed hope that war will be avoided, noting that, despite the tense situation around the country, there are currently no signs of a direct threat.
Lukashenko is not the first to announce military training. Back in April, he spoke about the need to be ready for war, repeating the famous phrase: “If you want peace, prepare for war.”
In February 2022, it provided territory to Belarus for the deployment of Russian troops during the invasion of Ukraine, although the Belarusian army does not directly participate in hostilities, conducting only regular exercises.
The attitude of Ukrainians towards Lukashenko and Belarus significantly worsened with the beginning of the war. According to the Razumkov Center, Ukrainians have a negative attitude towards six countries of the world, among which the worst is towards Russia (-93%) and its allies — Belarus (-80%), Iran (-72%) and China (-54%).
