Maldivian President Muizu held a press conference lasting 14 hours and 54 minutes, breaking Zelensky’s record

The President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzou, held a nearly 15-hour press conference, setting a new world record. In this way, he surpassed the previous achievement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who in 2019 communicated with journalists for 14 hours. About this informs France 24.

Muizzu, 46, started the press marathon at 10:00 a.m. local time and finished it just 14 hours and 54 minutes later, around midnight. During the event, he took short breaks for prayers. The press conference was dedicated to the World Press Freedom Day. About twenty journalists took part in the meeting, for which food was organized.

This is not the first record related to the leadership of the Maldives: in 2009, President Mohamed Nasheed held the first-ever underwater government meeting to draw attention to the risk of flooding the archipelago due to rising sea levels.

We will remind that on October 10, 2019, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a press conference lasting more than 14 hours in an informal atmosphere — at the Kyiv Food Market location. Journalists came in groups and took turns asking the head of state questions. Among the main topics were the situation in Donbas, the “Steinmeier formula”, the influence of oligarchs, judicial reform and international politics.
