NABU temporarily suspended the first deputy director in connection with the investigation of information leakage

Today, May 24, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine announced about temporary removal of the first deputy director Gizo Uglava from the performance of official duties. This decision is related to the investigation of a possible leak of confidential data, which became the reason for an internal investigation.
“In order to ensure an objective pre-trial investigation, initiated by the order of the director of the NABU, following a possible conflict of interest, the first deputy director of the NABU was removed from the performance of official duties and management of the departments and divisions established in internal documents”, the message says.
According to NABU’s statement, Uglava has also been removed from the leadership of units and areas assigned to him by internal documents. The Bureau also added that the leadership and staff of NABU are maximally interested in conducting a full, comprehensive and impartial investigation into this fact.
